Two Visionary Artists of The Great War

Commissioned by The Castle Hotel, Taunton for inclusion in their autumn 2014 series of Talks About Art.

To mark the centenary of the First World War, this lecture looks at an unusual coupling of two great modern artists who were profoundly influenced by an education at the Slade School of Art, and their exposure to the horrors of The Great War.  Both became official War Artists, and their very different responses to these experiences are explored through the work they created.
